If you are using Office 2013 64 bit, check this registry key and create it if it does not exist.
I've done it in XP (Office 2003 - x86), Vista (Office 2007 - x64), Win7 (Office 2010 - x64) and Win8 (Office 2013 - x64) on two (2) different machines.
