I did this on one machine tonight and my initial testing of opening browser pdfs was successful but it "broke" shortly after. Until you can give us the link we are only going to guessitmate what the issue is. For windows, go into control panel and click on delete / remove programs. Its a restricted access site.
If I right click the link and 'save as' I can open the pdf file outside of IE 8.0 with Acrobat 9.0 when this happens.
