But exporting the comments and importing into a fresh PDF only preserves comments. Then they disappear again, and reappear again. I downloaded PDF-XChange Viewer, this thing can open the file with the annotations and I can save the file i have not tried to fix it so that can open it The affected PDFs were not emailed or sent over the internet, I do not use a 3rd party reader (though I use Evermap plugin), and the only annotation objects I use
